If you thought fish and chips was synonymous with fried, greasy, fat and unhealthy, this is the place to change your mind. Opened in 1985 by John M. Low, the objective was mainly to raise this famous British dish of food from street food to restaurants.
The right way to beat it was to focus on product quality. So since then
the fish is purchased daily at the fish market in Aberdeen and cooked only by using a special batter and frying oil for the first class. All standard and have won many awards all'Ashvale Fish Restaurant for the best fish and chips.
Since 1985, Mr. Low has come a long way by opening more restaurants in other places in Scotland. We visited the local town which is located in Great Western Road.
The concept is simple and welcoming, the rooms are spacious, with many tables for 200 guests, the staff friendly and attentive.
After a careful study of the menu, I chose the "Fisherman's Feast" ,
haddock, cod, sole, turbot, shrimp and salmon famous fried in batter and dell'Ashavale Pepper chose a "Jumbo Haddock, haddock "giant". 
The waitress arrived with two huge dishes full of crisp and golden threads.
We accompanied our meal with a glass of beer Saint Andrew's and our appetite was finally subdued.
The crunchiness of the batter was flawless and the flavor of the fish did not left no doubt about its freshness. Even I, who fry 4 times a year, I had no difficulty with the rest of my portion without any digestive problem.
The only drawback is that I had to give up my afternoon slice of cake!
