in our 2 days in Glasgow, we decided to take advantage the lunch time to visit two of the works of Charles Rennie Mackintosh .
Mackintosh was an architect and designer. He was born in Glasgow in 1868 and died in 1928.
came from a large family and began his business 16 years as an assistant to an architect. At the same time he studied at Glasgow School of Art, where he met the woman who would become his wife, Margaret McDonald. His inspiration came from the Scottish tradition, mixed with a hint of Art Nouveau and Japanese style.
Along with sisters Margaret and Frances McDonald and James Herbert McNair created an innovative style that was precisely defined "Glasgow Style".
We can not forget his famous chairs back from the characteristic elongated and floral motifs, which we found in many homes in the city.
Mackintosh many internal project for Mrs. Kate Cranston, who was his benefactor for two decades. He created for you, the interior of two tea rooms: The Willow Tea Rooms, found in Sauchiehall Street and Buchanan Street. So taking advantage

The next day we moved across the river and we visited the House of an Art Lover . This project was presented by Mackintosh in 1901 for a contest held in Germany, but its realization came only after his death. The house was opened to the public in 1996 in Bellahouston Park.
The rooms are elegant and harmonious, with decorations inspired in particular to 'Art Nouveau. The furnishings show the Japanese influence.
